Arizona Fall League: Angels prospects struggle in Tuesday's 14-12 loss

Two Angels prospects were in action on Tuesday, although they did not do much to help Scottsdale in a losing effort.

The Scottsdale Scorpions, which houses Los Angeles Angels prospects at the Arizona Fall League, lost 14-12 on Tuesday night to the Salt River Rafters.

Bobby Cassevah made the start for Scottsdale and did not pitch well. The 25-year-old prospect worked 3⅓ innings of five-run ball, scattering eight hits on the night. He struck out two. Cassevah's ERA in the AFL is now 2.79.

Angels catcher Carlos Ramirez was behind the plate on Tuesday and went 0-for-5 with a run scored. Ramirez is now batting .227 this fall and will continue to play a couple of times a week.

David Adams of the Scorpions had a big day, belting two homers and driving in three runs. Giants prospect Gary Brown went 3-6 to improve his batting average to .333 in leadoff duty.

Scottsdale will take the field yet again Wednesday afternoon at 12:35 p.m. MT against Mesa. Peoria and Phoenix are also set for a 12:35 start, while Salt River and Surprise will play the night game at 6:35.
