As the bidding war for the Japanese reliever continues, the Angels learned they have plenty of competition for his services.

The Los Angeles Angels hosted Japanese closer Kyuji Fujikawa at their team facility on Saturday, where he toured Angel Stadium and went out to lunch with general manager Jerry DiPoto and manager Mike Scioscia.

The Halos aren't the only team interested in his services -- the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago White Sox, Arizona Diamondbacks and Baltimore Orioles each met with the 32-year-old right hander. According to the Japanese media, the Texas Rangers were also interested in Fujikawa.

As a 10-year veteran in Japan's professional league, he does not have to go through the tedious posting process, which is often expensive and painstaking. DiPoto did not discuss terms of any contract negotiations, nor did he choose to elaborate on what role he would play for the Halos should he sign.

Fujikawa brings a 93-mph fastball with movement, along with a slider and splitter. With the Hanshin Tigers last season, he went 3-3 with a 1.24 ERA and added 41 saves in 56 games.
