Angels vs. Mariners final score: Seattle evens series with commanding 6-1 win

One day after being eliminated from playoff contention, the Los Angeles Angels looked punchless against the Seattle Mariners. The Halos dropped the second game of their final series by a final score of 6-1 on Tuesday night and will try to end the season on a winning note in the rubber match on Wednesday.

The Mariners were in control for pretty much the entire game. Seattle took an early lead with a two-out solo home run from Kyle Seager in the bottom of the first inning. Michael Saunders added a two-run double in the fourth to make it 3-0 Seattle. In the fifth, John Jaso hit an RBI single and Saunders hit another RBI double to stretch the lead out to 5-0 for the home team. Jesus Montero contributed the final Mariners run in the bottom of the eighth with an RBI single that scored Jaso.

The Angels did not get on the board until the top of the ninth, when Howie Kendrick drove home Andrew Romine on a single with two outs.

Dan Haren took the loss and will finish the season with a 12-13 record. He allowed five runs (three earned) in six innings of work on seven hits and no walks.
