Angels On Fire At Home, Welcome Mariners To Town

The Angels are 17-3 in their last 20 home games against Seattle.

The Los Angeles Angels look for continued home success Monday night as they welcome the Seattle Mariners to town on Labor Day. The Angels have won eight of their last nine home games, and have won 10 of their last 11 series at Angel Stadium. The Halos are 25-9 in their last 34 home games, and have won 17 of their last 20 contests against the Mariners in Anaheim.

Dan Haren gets the start for the Angels in the series opener, looking to wash the bad taste from his mouth from his tough luck loss in Seattle in his last start on August 31. Haren left the game with two outs in the eighth inning after two seeing-eye singles, with a 1-0 lead. Scott Downs allowed a two-run double to Mike Carp, and Haren took the loss. On the season, Haren has allowed just eight runs in four starts against Seattle, with a 2-1 record and a 2.37 ERA.

Anthony Vasquez is making just his third major league start tonight for Seattle. In his last outing, on August 30, the Angels tagged Vasquez for eight runs in four innings.

Monday night's 6:05 p.m. PDT game will be televised by Fox Sports West. For more news and information on the Angels, be sure to read Halos Heaven.
