Things were looking pretty gloomy for the Los Angeles Angels in the ninth inning Thursday night, three outs away from four-game sweep by the Texas Rangers and an eight-game deficit in the American League West. Mark Trumbo provided a glimmer of hope with a walk-off home run, and the Angels hope their best prospect will provide more hope. Mike Trout is on his way back to the Angels, according to Trout's brother Tyler.↵
Trout, who turned 20 on August 7, had seven hits in 43 at-bats in 14 games with the Angels last month. Trout was optioned back to Double A Arkansas on August 1. In 91 games in Double A this season, Trout is hitting .326/.414/.544 with 42 extra-base hits and 33 stolen bases.↵
It is unknown what the corresponding move will be, but Vernon Wells was held out of the starting lineup Thursday after feeling sore from colliding with the wall on Wednesday.↵
