Mike Trout Reportedly To Be Recalled By Angels Friday

Stay connected for news and updates

Things were looking pretty gloomy for the Los Angeles Angels in the ninth inning Thursday night, three outs away from four-game sweep by the Texas Rangers and an eight-game deficit in the American League West. Mark Trumbo provided a glimmer of hope with a walk-off home run, and the Angels hope their best prospect will provide more hope. Mike Trout is on his way back to the Angels, according to Trout's brother Tyler.

So the bro is finally heading back to Anaheim. Hopefully he can help get something started again with the #Angels. #MikeTroutless than a minute ago via web Favorite Retweet Reply

Trout, who turned 20 on August 7, had seven hits in 43 at-bats in 14 games with the Angels last month. Trout was optioned back to Double A Arkansas on August 1. In 91 games in Double A this season, Trout is hitting .326/.414/.544 with 42 extra-base hits and 33 stolen bases.

It is unknown what the corresponding move will be, but Vernon Wells was held out of the starting lineup Thursday after feeling sore from colliding with the wall on Wednesday.
