Wells added another RBI single in the fifth inning and his seventh home run of the season in the seventh inning, a solo shot that padded the Angels lead to 7-0. Wells has three home runs and seven runs batted in during the first six games of the road trip, hitting .292/.292/.667.
Chatwood evened his record at 4-4 and threw a season-high 117 pitches. It was his first win since May 22, five starts ago. Chatwood has lasted at least seven innings in six of his 14 starts this season. The Angels begin a series on Monday in Florida, facing the reeling Marlins, who have lost 18 of their last 19 games.
