With Weaver Now Under Contract, Angels Payroll Approaches $140 Million

Now that the Angels have won their arbitration case with Jered Weaver, they will pay their ace right-hander a salary of $7.365 million in 2011. The Angels now have $135.265 million committed to 18 players, plus Gary Matthews Jr., to whom the Angels owe $11 million this year. Once the remaining seven roster spots are filled, the Angels' payroll will likely be somewhere in the $140 million range.
