Klentak, 31, will work closely with General Manager Jerry Dipoto and Scott Servais, Assistant General Manager, Scouting & Player Development.  Klentak will join the Angels organization next week.

Klentak had been with the Baltimore Orioles as Director of Baseball Operations since March of 2008, where he assisted President of Baseball Operations Andy MacPhail in scouting, player development and contract negotiations. As mentioned in the Angel's tweet, Klentak will be taking part in all aspects of the baseball operations of the club, and will undoubtedly have his fingers in a lot of pies around the front offices in Anaheim.

Before working with the Orioles he spent four years with Major League Baseball's Labor Relations Department, where he provided advice and interpretations on the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBS) and Major League Rules to all 30 Major League teams.  He also played a large part in MLB's Collective Bargaining that successfully negotiated a second consecutive CBA without a work stoppage in 2006.

A native of Medfield, MA, Klentak graduated in 2002 with a degree in Economics from Dartmouth College, where he was a four-year baseball letterman, three-year starting shortstop and team captain his senior year. He won two Ivy League Red Rolfe Division championships (2000 and 2001) during his playing days there.
