It appears Scot Shields' time as an Angel may be coming to a close this week, per Dan Woike of the Orange County Register:

Scot Shields says chances of returning to Angels "Slim to none." Says he's thinking about retiring.

Shields, who was drafted by the Angels in the 38th round of the 1997 draft, has been with the club since 2001, and his 491 games pitched is second only to Troy Percival in franchise history.
