The Los Angeles Clippers continue to be the talk of the NBA while the Los Angeles Lakers are quietly finding themselves after the return of Steve Nash.

After going 16-0 in the month of December, the Los Angeles Clippers begin the new year by putting their winning streak on the line in Denver against the Nuggets.

Following his team's 21-7 victory over USC, Georgia Tech defensive back Rod Sweeting was named the Sun Bowl MVP. Sweeting was one of three Yellow Jackets defensive backs to intercept Trojans' quarterback Max Wittek.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets stunned the USC Trojans in this year's Sun Bowl, winning 21-7 in El Paso. The Trojans finished the year at 7-6 after starting the season ranked No. 1 in the country.

On Monday the LA Galaxy announced the signing of Italian goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini. Cudicini last played for Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League.

The Stanford Cardinal are playing in Tuesday's Rose Bowl thanks in large part to quarterback Kevin Hogan. The red-shirt freshman started the Cardinal's last four games, including a Pac-12 Championship Game win over UCLA

The NBA had a busy weekend and the Los Angeles Clippers added to it by continuing their winning ways.

The Clippers will have to face some challenges away from the Staples Center before they return home to take on the Lakers this Friday.
