The Sounders and Galaxy are in search of a spot in the MLS Championship and it begins in Seattle on Sunday.
The Seattle Sounders will travel to face the LA Galaxy on Sunday for their MLS Playoffs West Championship Leg 1 contest at 9 pm ET.
The Sounders will rely on their defense to stymie a Galaxy offense that had its difficulties scoring on the Sounders during the regular season.
In three games between the two clubs, the Sounders only gave up one goal and that was in the regular-season finale two weeks ago. The Sounders' defense was one of the calling cards of the team all season as only Sporting Kansas City held opponents to fewer goals. Out of the Sounders' last seven league games, five of them were shutouts.
And all this is before you even get to Eddie Johnson and Fredy Montero up front. The Galaxy have their hands full with the Sounders and that's exactly how they want it.
