Three plays into their next drive, Bears receiver Jordan Najvar fumbled and Bruins linebacker Randall Goforth recovered the ball on the Bears' 21 yard line. Two plays later, quarterback Brett Hundley hit tight end Joseph Fauria over the middle for a 22 yard touchdown pass to make the score 21-7.
The Bruins' defensive struggles continued as they allowed the Bears to march 75 yards down the field in under two minutes to take a 28-7 lead. After a Bruins 3-and-out, Baylor running back Lache Seastrunk took a hand off 43 yards for the score, making it a 35-7 lead for the Bears.
Hundley guided the Bruins down the field on a play that included a fake punt and a fourth-down completion to put a field goal on the board, making the score 35-10 at halftime.
