MLS Standings 2012: Chivas USA Continues To Fight

Stay connected for news and updates

Chivas USA's worst enemies right now are the Vancouver Whitecaps, FC Dallas and time.

With only nine games left on their MLS schedule, Chivas USA doesn't have a lot of time to make up the deficit between them and the fifth and final playoff spot that Vancouver currently owns.

Chivas USA has 28 points due to a 7-11-7 record and trails FC Dallas (33 points, 8-12-9) and the Whitecaps (37 points, 10-11-7). A nine point gap is substantial and could be constituted as insurmountable but Chivas USA has vowed to keep on fighting.

Of the nine games that remain, two are against FC Dallas which will give Chivas USA a chance to help their own chances while hurting the chances of a team that they're chasing. Chivas USA's next game is on September 8 at the Seattle Sounders.
