The Anaheim Ducks continued their excellent play of late on Wednesday with a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins, improving their record to 3-0-1 to start their eight-game road trip. The game-winning goal came off the stick of 41-year old Teemu Selanne, who scored at 7:51 of the third period, his 19th goal of the season.

"It was a great pass from Beleskey, and I knew [Pittsburgh goalie Marc-Andre Fleury] was going to challenge me, he came out quite far," Selanne said after the game. "I have done that move like 1,000 times in the practice and the games, so it was nice to see it go in."

Teemu Selanne scored at 7:51 of the third period, lifting the Anaheim Ducks to a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins Wednesday night at CONSOL Energy Center. The victory was the third straight win for the Ducks, who are 3-0-1 to start their eight-game road trip, and 5-0-2 in their last seven games.

The Ducks are at .500 (24-24-9) for the first time since November 5, after a 14-2-3 stretch over their last nine games.

Selanne's goal was his 19th of the season and gave him 656 in his career, tying him with Brendan Shanahan for 12th all-time on the NHL goal scoring list. Selanne also has 1,392 points in his career, breaking his tie with Brett Hull for 21st all-time.

Ducks Vs. Penguins: Anaheim Continues Road Trip In Pittsburgh

The Anaheim Ducks continue their road trip Wednesday night facing the Pittsburgh Penguins at CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh. The Ducks are 2-0-1 in the first three games of their eight-game road trip and have achieved at least one point in six straight games, during which they are 4-0-2.

Should the Ducks (23-24-9) win on Wednesday, they would be at .500 for the first time since November 3.

"We're just playing the same way the whole game and not trying to do different things or be too cute when we get down," Corey Perry told NHL.com. "That's what we've been doing since we've been on this roll and we have to keep doing it." Perry has scored four goals in his last two games.

This is the only meeting this year between the Ducks and Penguins (32-19-5), who are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. The Ducks beat the Penguins 3-2 in Anaheim last season, on November 5, 2010.

Wednesday night's 4 p.m. PST game will be televised by Prime Ticket. For more news and information on Ducks hockey, be sure to read Anaheim Calling.
