Anaheim Ducks Winning Streak Snapped After 1-0 Loss To Dallas Stars

The Anaheim Ducks were on quite the roll over the course of the last few weeks, but their winning streak came to an end on Tuesday night as they were shutout by the Dallas Stars. The club had plenty of chances to win, but a big night from Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonen was simply too good as Anaheim lost 1-0.

Alex Goligoski scored his sixth goal of the season late in the first period that would turn out to be the game-winning goal. Mike Ribeiro and Lou Eriksson set the play up and were credited with assists. There were no penalties in the first or third periods, although the game got physical in the second, with six penalties called. Rod Pelley and Jake Dowell both received five minute majors for fighting.

This was a tough loss for the Ducks but the recent winning streak at least gave them some hope going forward. They are now 18-23-7 and have 43 points. Anaheim will now travel west to face the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT.
