The Ducks have 71 points and are 11th in the Western Conference, but are just three points removed from the fifth spot.
The Anaheim Ducks have made some noise on the day of the NHL trade deadline, making one deal and on their way to another move. The Ducks have sent a 2012 third round draft pick to the St. Louis Blues for forward Brad Winchester, per Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register. Also, per Stephens:
Maxim Lapierre will be dealt and move should happen soon.
Winchester has appeared in 57 games for the Blues this season, and has scored nine goals and has five assists. The Ducks acquired Lapierre from the Montreal Canadiens on December 31, for defenseman Brett Festerling. In 21 games with the Ducks, Lapierre had no goals and three assists. Last night, Daniel from the SB Nation blog Anaheim Calling figured the Ducks would be active today:
Honestly, I think Murray just can't help himself. He'll see a Ducks team that is still on the outside of the playoff picture and has to make one more acquisition. By the end of business today, the Ducks will be at least 3 points out of a playoff spot. Murray will try to do something. I don't think it'll be a huge splash of a deal, but Murray will pick up someone. Although, I think the best move would be unloading Sutton for a pick and calling up Bonino.
The Ducks made a minor move last night, acquiring right wing Brian McGrattan and defenseman Sean Zimmerman from Boston in exchange for center Stefan Chaput and right wing David Laliberte. Both McGrattan and Zimmerman reported directly to Syracuse, the club announced last night.

2011 NHL Trade Deadline: Ducks Trade Lapierre, Sharp To Canucks For Perrault, Draft Pick
The Anaheim Ducks continued their wheeling and dealing on NHL trade deadline day, dealing centers Maxim Lapierre and MacGregor Sharp to the Vancouver Canucks for center Joel Perrault and a 2012 third-round draft pick, the club announced today. The Ducks acquired Lapierre from the Montreal Canadiens on December 31, for defenseman Brett Festerling. In 21 games with the Ducks, Lapierre had no goals and three assists.
The Ducks earlier today also acquired forward Brad Winchester from the St. Louis Blues for two draft picks. Perrault, who will turn 28 in April, has appeared in seven games for the Canucks this season, and has no goals or assists in 50 minutes of ice time. He has appeared in 96 games in parts of six seasons in the NHL, with 12 goals and 14 assists.
Perrault was originally drafted by Anaheim in 2001, though he never played for the Ducks. He had three goals and 15 assists in 26 games with Manitoba of the AHL. Anaheim is off until Wednesday, when they host the Detroit Red Wings at Honda Center.
