Ducks Vs. Flyers: Anaheim Squanders 3-0 Lead, Falls In Overtime 4-3 In Bruce Boudreau's Debut

For a while, it looked like the Anaheim Ducks would make a winner out of Bruce Boudreau Friday night in his first game behind the Anaheim bench. The Ducks led 3-0 midway through the second period, but ultimately lost in overtime 4-3 to the Philadelphia Flyers as Claude Giroux blasted a one-timer past Jonas Hiller at 3:29 of the extra period to the game-winning tally.

The Flyers were greatly aided by a double minor penalty called on Ryan Getzlaf of the Ducks less than a minute into overtime. He was called for tripping Jakub Voracek, then was called for unsportsmanlike conduct for slamming his stick against the glass.

Hiller was peppered with shots all night, saving 43 of 47. The Ducks were outshot 8-1 in overtime and by a whopping 47-22 margin for the game.

Anaheim led 3-0 in the second period, but a pair of goals by Jaromir Jagr brought Philadelphia to within one in the final period. Scott Hartnell tied the game with 3:02 remaining in the third period, on an assist from Jagr. Kimmo Timonen had three assists for the Flyers.

Saku Koivu had a pair of assists in defeat for the Ducks, who host the Minnesota Wild on Sunday night at Honda Center.
