Ducks Vs. Maple Leafs: Anaheim Loses Seventh Straight, 5-2 To Toronto

Anaheim is 2-12-4 in its last 18 games.

The Anaheim Ducks continued their amazing free fall on Sunday night, losing 5-2 to the Toronto Maple Leafs at Honda Center in Anaheim. Tyler Bozak scored two goals for the Maple Leafs, and former Duck Joffrey Lupul had two assists. Jonas Gustavsson saved 26 of 28 shots for Toronto in the win.

Anaheim has lost seven straight games, 13 of their last 14, and 16 of their last 18 contests. In their last 18 games, the Ducks are 2-12-4. Corey Perry and Francois Beauchemin scored goals for the Ducks, who at 16 points have the second-worst record in the National Hockey League. Only the Columbus Blue Jackets (6-14-3, 15 points) are worse.

Jonas Hiller saved 23 of 27 shots in the loss. Luke Schenn added an empty net goal with 12 seconds remaining to provide the final margin. Hiller has just one win in his last 12 outings, and has allowed three or more goals in 10 of his last 12 games.

The Ducks have two days off before hosting the Montreal Canadiens in Anaheim on Wednesday night.
