Jared Abbrederis has been just about the only consistent part of Wisconsin's offense, so they may look his way early and often in the Rose Bowl.
The Wisconsin Badgers have leaned heavily on Montee Ball this season, which may prove a problem when they face Stanford's No. 3 rush defense in the 2013 Rose Bowl. That leaves some room for wide receiver Jared Abbrederis, who leads the team had accounts for nearly 40 percent of their passing yards.
Abbrederis has 46 catches for 793 yards, more than double the second-leading receiver on the team. He's been just about the only consistent part of Wisconsin's passing attack, as the Badgers went through three starting quarterbacks.
Abbrederis was unusually quiet in the Big Ten Championship game, with only two catches for 29 yards. The Rose Bowl may be different. The Cardinal defense isn't nearly as strong against the pass as it is against the run, with Stanford giving up over 250 yards per game in 2012. If Abbrederis can put together a big game he has a shot at coming away with the MVP trophy.
The 2013 Rose Bowl Game takes place on Tuesday, January 1 in Pasadena. Kickoff is at 5:00 p.m. PST, with television coverage provided by ESPN.
