NCAA football rankings, week 6: USC No. 13 in AP Poll, UCLA returns at No. 25

Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

USC remains a steady No. 13 in the AP Poll, while UCLA returns to the rankings.

The USC Trojans, on a bye week before the meat of their Pac-12 schedule begins, remained a steady No. 13 in the latest AP Poll on Sunday, holding down that ranking for the second consecutive weekend.

The Trojans return to the field on Thursday to take on the Utah Utes.

The Pac-12's Washington Huskies were responsible for the weekend's biggest shift in the poll, as their victory over the Stanford Cardinal sent Stanford down 10 spots in the poll, while the Huskies land at No. 23 in this week's poll.

The UCLA Bruins, after a convincing victory over the Colorado Buffaloes, climbed back into the rankings, landing at No. 25, just behind the No. 24 Northwestern Wildcats, who are ranked for the first time since 2008.

The Oregon Ducks remained the nation's No. 2 team, while the Florida State Seminoles were able to leap past the LSU Tigers and claim the poll's No. 3 spot.
