Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy rallied from three strokes behind Louis Oosthuizen when play began Monday to overtake him and and win the 2012 Deutsche Bank Championship of golf, shooting a 67 at the TPC Boston course.
The 23-year-old McIlroy shot a minus-20 over the four days of the PGA Tour playoff tournament. Tiger Woods finished in third place with a 66 on Monday, to McIlroy's 67.
McIlroy had five birdies and scored a 32 on the front nine holes.
Former USC golfer Kevin Stadler finished tied for 10th after shooting a final round 66.
Woods remains near the top of the leaderboard in the FedEx Cup standings. His finish made him the first PGA Tour player to surpass the $100 million mark for career earnings.
Phil Mickelson played his best round on Monday, shooting a minus-5 to improve his overall score to minus-14 for the tournament.
