The situation was serious over the weekend, with USC Trojans cornerback Brian Baucham spending Saturday and Sunday in intensive care on a ventilator. The fifth-year senior's condition is improving, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Baucham recorded a season-high three tackles against the Golden Bears before being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. He has played his career as a reserve at the cornerback spot and on special teams, recording 23 total tackles.

The 22-year-old came to USC out of West Torrance High School in Torrance, Calif., back in 2009 as a two-star running back. He was ineligible to play last season after appearing in 12 games in 2010. He missed time as a freshman with a toe injury.

The best single-game performance of Baucham's career so far came against Washington in 2010, when he recorded four tackles and a pass defensed.
