Stay connected for news and updates

The Tour Championship got underway on Thursday at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, and it's shaping up to be a showdown between the top 30 players left in the PGA Tour Playoffs.

Jim Furyk, Bo Van Pelt and Scott Piercy currently sit atop the leaderboard at 2-under for the day. Lee Westwood, Ryan Moore, Sergio Garcia, Matt Kuchar, Carl Pettersson and Justin Rose are the only other players currently under par at East Lake, sitting at 1-under.

FedEx Cup points leader Rory McIlroy has started his round with a bogey on the first, while his playing partner Tiger Woods made par and is even through his first hole of the day. Phil Mickelson is even though his first two holes.

Two-over is currently the highest score on the course, meaning only four shots separate first place and last place so far.
