LOS ANGELES, CA - SEPTEMBER 14: Andre Ethier #16 of the Los Angeles Dodgers is greeted by Adrian Gonzalez #23 as he returns to the dugout after hitting a two run home run in the third inning against the St Louis Cardinals on September 14, 2012 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Los Angeles Dodgers stars Adrian Gonzalez and Andre Ethier could be on Mexico's World Baseball Classic team in 2013.

Several Los Angeles Dodgers are on the preliminary list of players eligible to be invited to play for Mexico in the 2013 World Baseball Classic, including All-Stars Adrian Gonzalez and Andre Ethier.

Other Dodgers who could get invites are third baseman Luis Cruz, a breakout player for the Dodgers this season, plus utility man Jerry Hairston Jr., who has played in the WBC before.

Take a look at this list of 69 eligible players. Mexico must carry 28 on its final roster. It's a little surprising which players have Mexican ancestry that fans might not have been aware of before.

Former Dodgers Rod Barajas, Andy LaRoche and Karim Garcia are also up for consideration. In fact, Garcia, according to this story (brush up on your espanol or Google Translate) is already on the team.

Dodgers legend Fernando Valenzuela is already tabbed as a coach for Team Mexico. Gonzalez is more likely to accept a roster spot, if offered, than Ethier.
