The USC Trojans suffered a major setback on Saturday night with their 21-14 loss to the Stanford Cardinal in Palo Alto in their Pac-12 Conference opener. But the Trojans look to get back on track next week against the Cal Bears, over whom they are heavy favorites.
USC opened as a 17-point favorite over Cal, who came up just short in their upset bid at The Horseshoe against the Ohio St. Buckeyes on Saturday.
The Trojans are 2-1 on the season, but 0-3 against the spread. They hope to add wins to both categories back on their home turf at the Los Angeles Memorial Colsieum on Saturday. Cal (1-2) is 1-2 against the spread this season.
USC has beaten Cal eight straight times, including a 30-9 victory on the road last season. The average score between the two schools over the last eight years has been 29-10.
