Khaled Holmes is still listed as the starting center just two days after suffering what could be a potential serious ankle injury.

USC senior center Khaled Holmes is still listed as the starter on the Trojans' most recent depth chart even after suffering an ankle injury in Saturday's 42-29 victory over Syracuse.

As of Sunday evening, there was no update on the severity of Holmes' ailment, according to Pedro Moura of ESPN Los Angeles. But with this depth chart being released the same day, perhaps Holmes' status as the No.1 center can be taken as a good omen, or at least as a sign that the injury isn't believed to be season-threatening.

Holmes, who had to be carted off late in the fourth with the injury, was replaced by freshman Cyrus Hobbi. The Trojans are set to face Stanford next for their Pac-12 opener so they're surely hoping their team captain can return soon.
