PGA Championship 2012 Purse: Tiger Woods Top Earner From Los Angeles

Tiger Woods finished in 11th place in the 2012 PGA Championship, and despite not managing to end up winning a major, he ended up with a lot of money overall. Woods earned $143,286 for his efforts overall.

Two more Los Angeles golfers earned money from this tournament. John Huh tied for 68th with $15,150, Cameron Triangle finished last among those who made the cut at 72nd place with $14,800. There were several other Los Angeles golfers in the hunt in the tournament, but Brendan Steele, Charlie Wi, Hunter Mahan, Kevin Stadler and Rickie Fowler missed the cut.

In the event of a tie -- and there's always ties -- the prize money will get distributed around evenly. For example, if there's a four-way tie for second, the second-, third-, fourth- and fifth-place prizes are combined. Woods finished tied with 11th and ended up with as much money as everyone else.

2012 PGA Championship Results: Tiger Woods Finishes In 11th Place, Rory McIlroy Wins

The fourth round of the 2012 PGA Championship has wrapped up, and it was the young Rory McIlroy who completely dominated the competition. McIlroy shot a -6 on Sunday, improving his overall score to -13 for the tournament. His margin of victory over the second place finisher, David Lynn (-5), is the largest in PGA Championship history, breaking Jack Nicklaus' record.

The win marks the second major championship win of McIlroy's career. He will remain the No. 1 player in the world.

Tiger Woods remained in the hunt through late Saturday, but a poor finish to round three and a slow start on Sunday dropped him back on the leaderboard. Woods finished at -2 overall after shooting par today. His wait for a major championship will continue on to 2013.

Justin Rose, Keegan Bradley, Ian Poulter and Carl Pettersson all tied for third place at -4 overall.

Round 3 of the 2012 PGA Championship will have to wait until Sunday morning, as play was suspended midway through the round due to inclement weather. PGA Championship Leaderboard 2012 Update: Tiger Woods Struggles As Play Suspended In Round 3

Round 3 of the 2012 PGA Championship has been suspended midway through due to thunderstorms. Prior to that development, Vijay Singh was holding on to the lead with which he started the day, while Tiger Woods struggled and slid to a tie for 11th. Carl Pettersson, who also opend the day tied for the lead with Tiger and Singh, was shooting an even par through eight holes, staying well within sight of Singh.

Singh didn't have sole posession of the lead, as Rory McIlroy shot 4-under on the front nine to move into a tie with Singh. Both men were 6-under overall. Bo Van Pelt was also doing some serious climbing. He finished his round with a score of 67, good enough to place him at 3-under and in fifth place, 19 places up the leaderboard from where he started the day.

It is unclear if play will resume on Saturday, but whenever things start back up there's plenty of golf left to play. For a live leaderboard, visit Golf.com.

2012 PGA Championship: Tee Times And Pairings For Saturday Will Be Delayed

Tiger Woods is the leader after the second round of play at the 2012 PGA Championship. Even if the second round is not technically complete, thanks to Joost Luiten.

Luiten was in the middle of a woeful 5-over round on Friday evening when he decided not to play his 18th hole. He cited darkness as the reason, so the third round will not be able to get underway exactly as planned.

What this means is that the tee times for Saturday's scheduled third round in South Carolina cannot -- and will not -- be released until all golfers finish their second round. So everyone will be waiting for Luiten to wrap things up before finding out Saturday's playing order and groupings.

Luiten will return to play his 18th hole at 4:30 a.m. PT. The tee times for the full third round on Saturday will be released about an hour later.

2012 PGA Championship: TV Schedule, How To Watch Online And More

With the start of the 2012 PGA Championship on Thursday at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island in South Carolina, names like Tiger Woods, Rory McIlory, Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson will be vying for the title of PGA champion. But you wont be able to know what happens unless you tune in to find out.

Keegan Bradley took home the Wanamaker trophy in 2011 at the Atlanta Athletic Club, though the field will face a much different test of golf at the Ocean Course, similar to 2010 PGA Championship locale Whistling Straights, only on the shores of the South Carolina coast instead of the shores of Lake Michigan.

The TNT Network will have coverage of first round action from 1-7 p.m. ET on Thursday, with streaming abilities available via PGA.com. You can also follow along with statistics and the full leaderboard at pgatour.com.

2012 PGA Championship Odds: Tiger Woods Overwhelming Favorite at 8/1 Odds

Tiger Woods hasn't been Tiger Woods for quite some time. It has been four years since his last major championship at the 2008 U.S. Open, and it looks like the clouds have finally parted at the ray of sun is shining on Woods' odds.

Odds makers agree with Woods' recent play and have put him as a heavy favorite at 8-to-1 to win the 94th PGA Championship at Kiawah Island's Ocean Course in South Carolina.

The next closest are Rory McIlroy and Luke Donald at 18-to-1 each. Lee Westwood is the only other golfer at less than 20-to-1 odds. Everyday fan favorite Phil Mickelson didn't get such kind looks and sits at 40-to-1 odds.

2011's winner Keegan Bradley (Wood's tee-partner) comes in at 33-to-1. The odds don't have too much faith in the three major winners so far this season with Webb Simpson at 33-to-1, Bubba Watson at 40-to-1 and Ernie Els at a borderline forgotten 50-to-1.
