Josh Beckett will have his debut in blue Monday at Coors Field against the Rockies.

For most pitchers, making a debut with a new team at the Colorado Rockies' Coors Field sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen, but that's exactly what the Los Angeles Dodgers will be asking of Josh Beckett Monday afternoon.

Beckett compiled mediocre numbers (5-11, 5.23 ERA) in his time with the Boston Red Sox this season but will be looking to turn everything around against one of the National League's softest opponents. Still, things could get sticky quickly with Beckett's fly ball tendencies in the thin air of Colorado so Dodgers fans would be wise to brace themselves.

Beckett does have history working in his favor though. Over his career, Beckett is 3-0 at Coors with very respectable 3.60 ERA in four starts. The newly-acquired right-hander will be facing off against Jeff Francis (4-4, 5.79 ERA), stirring up memories of the 2007 World Series sweep at the hands of the Red Sox.

It will be especially important for Beckett to make his presence felt as early as game one with Chad Billingsley on the DL for an extended period of time.
