2012 Barclays: Rickie Fowler Three Shots Off Lead

Rickie Fowler is 4-under and three shots off leader Padraig Harrington after Thursday's first round of The Barclays in Farmingdale, New York. The Murietta, Calif., native birdied holes 13 through 16 and nixed a bogey with another birdie on the seventh hole of the Behtpage State Park's Black course.

Fowler is currently tied for eighth place.

Tiger Woods, who has an impressive history at Bethpage, sits in a tie for 14th place at 3-under after the first day of The Barclays. Woods' power is evident on his scorecard, as he birdied two of the course's three par-5s.

At the top of the leaderboard, Americans Nick Watney and Brian Harman are chasing Harrington. Watney and Harman sit at 6-under, one stroke off the lead. Pat Perez, Sergio Garcia, Gary Christian, and Jimmy Walker are tied for fourth place at 5-under.

Harrington recorded eight birdies and had only one bogey -- on the third hole.

Here's a look at the whole leaderboard.
