The United States now holds the most medals at the 2012 Olympics in London. They have trailed China throughout the first few days, but a strong showing on Thursday propelled Team USA into the lead with a total of 37. Of those medals, 18 are gold, nine are silver and 10 are bronze.
Their numbers were aided greatly on Thursday by strong showings in swimming, gymnastics and judo.
