Angels Pitching Coach Mike Butcher Suspended, Fined

Los Angeles Angels pitching coach Mike Butcher has been fined and suspended for leaving the dugout and "aggressively arguing" with an umpire during a game against the Seattle Mariners on Sunday.

Butcher will miss tonight's game against the Cleveland Indians and was also fined an undisclosed amount, according to a press release.

He left the dugout in the first inning of the 4-1 loss to the Mariners, apparently upset over the balls and strikes being called by umpire Mike Estabrook. Two close calls by Mariners pitcher Jered Weaver caught Butcher's attention before he got in the face of Estabrook.

The 47-year-old Butcher has been with the Angels organization since 2006, where he's spent the entirety as the pitching coach.

Los Angeles is currently third place in the AL West race and holds a 60-56 record.
