Tiger Woods missed out on yet another major PGA Tour win. Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy snapped his own slump as he won the 2012 PGA Championship on Sunday.
For the first two rounds of the 2012 PGA Championship in South Carolina, Tiger Woods had visions of snapping his PGA Tour major wins drought that stretches all the way back to 2008. In the end, however, his late-round struggles continued and he finished down at 11th place, tied with six other golfers at 2-under.
The day -- and the tournament -- belonged once again to young Rory McIlroy, who snapped his own majors slump as he ran away with the event, opening up a massive lead over the final two rounds and helping himself to a 6-under fourth round. He finished at 13-under, which was more than enough, as he finished a full eight strokes ahead of David Lynn.
Justin Rose, Keegan Bradley, Ian Poulter and Carl Pettersson all finished in a tie for third place, at 4-under.
