USA vs. Spain: Men's Basketball Final Pits Kobe Bryant Against Pau Gasol

Stay connected for news and updates

The United States and Spain will meet on Sunday afternoon to determine with nation has the best basketball team in the world. The U.S. will enter as the favorites, but the size of the Spaniards could present a lot of problems on the offensive end.

Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol are the best of friends both on and off the court, but tomorrow they'll be battling for a gold medal. For one of the two Lakers stars, he's looking forward to the showdown in London.

Pau Gasol had this today as his team wrapped up their final day of preparations for Team USA.

We should be in for a great game. These two teams were the favorites in the 2012 Olympics, and they've both played very well for the most part. Even with Bryant and Gasol being close, don't expect either man to hold anything back as he plays for his country.

Tipoff in the gold medal game is scheduled for 7 a.m. PT on Sunday morning. Set your alarm clocks!
