British Open Highlights 2012: Tiger Woods Proves He Still Has Plenty Left

The fourth round of the 2012 British Open contained far more thrills than was perhaps expected for most of the day on Sunday. Adam Scott fell apart over the final four holes when his first career Major win had seemed all but sewn up. In the end, of course, Scott bogeyed four straight to give the title to Ernie Els. But also taking a big part in the conversation was Tiger Woods.

Woods played with renewed passion over the course of the tournament, including vintage spectacular shots like this:

Woods managed to finish in a tie for third place, but was unable to close the gap in the final round. Still, Woods proved he is far from done and had a much easier time in the tournament than did Phil Mickelson, who came up well short in his latest attempt at his first Open Championship crown and in fact missed the cut following the second round by a full eight strokes.

Tiger displayed flashes of the brilliance to which his fans are accustomed. Shots like this give the distinct impression that his 15th Major win may eventually come:

Fans now have renewed hope that there will be a lot more time to cheer for the continued success of Tiger Woods.
