Belmont Stakes 2012: Horses' Day Off [VIDEO]

Sad news in horse racing today, as it was revealed that Triple Crown contender I'll Have Another was scratched from the Belmont Stakes, ending, in anti- climactic fashion, a chance to see the first horse achieve that feat in several decades. Naturally, as sports fans, we here at SB Nation were bummed as well. Channeling that sorrow into something creative, the good people over at SBNStudios decided to capture some amazing - behind the scenes footage of the day-to-day stuff that goes on in horse racing.

After the jump, check out our look at the human side horse side of racing, as Belmont Stakes entrants Dullahan, Union Rags, and Paynter decide to cheer up the injured I'll Have Another by taking him out on the town for an unforgettable day in New York City.
