NHL Draft 2012 Results: Anaheim Selects Five Defensemen In Eight Picks

The Anaheim Ducks had eight picks in the 2012 NHL Draft and spent five of those picks on defensemen, including their first round pick on Friday, Hampus Lindholm.

On Saturday, the Ducks continued their attempt to sure up a defense that was 19th in the league in goals against with 2.7 allowed per game.

With the no. 36 overall pick of the second round, the Ducks selected American LW Nicolas Kerdiles. At no. 87 overall in the third round, the Ducks selected G Frederick Andersen out of Denmark. In round 4, the Ducks added Canadians C Kevin Roy (no. 97) and D Andrew O'Brien (no. 108). In round 5, the Ducks selected American D Brian Cooper and added Canadian D Kenton Helgesen with the no. 187 overall pick of the seventh round. Finally, the Ducks' draft ended with the selection of American D Jaycob Megna with pick no. 211 overall of the seventh round.
