Preakness 2012, Results And Recap: I'll Have Another Does It Again

The 2012 Preakness Stakes took place on Saturday at Pimlico. The second leg of the annual Triple Crown had no shortage of drama and may have been even more thrilling than the Kentucky Derby. The end result was nearly identical to the events at Churchill Downs just two weeks ago.

Heading into the final turn, betting favorite Bodemeister held a sizable lead over Creative Cause and I'll Have Another was fighting for third place. Into the final straightaway and heading down the home stretch, I'll Have Another fairly exploded from behind, breaking into a frantic sprint to chase down Bodemeister and win by a nose at the wire.

If I'll Have Another can manage a win at the Belmont Stakes, he will be the first Triple Crown Winner in nearly 40 years.

Here are the full results from the 2012 Preakness Stakes:

1. I'll Have Another
2. Bodemeister
3. Creative Cause
4. Zetterholm
5. Teeth of the Dog
6. Optimizer
