Preakness 2012 Odds & Favorites: Went The Day Well, Creative Cause Looking Like Trendy Picks

The running of the 137th Preakness Stakes will take place on Saturday afternoon from beautiful Pimlico. Quite a few horses dropped out this past week, but there is still a very strong field in place for the very large purse. I'll Have Another won the first leg of the Triple Crown, a title that has not been won since 1978. Despite being the favorite at the Kentucky Derby, Bodemeister finished in second place by a few legs. He will be the favorite once again on Saturday.

Looking for a trendy horse to bet on? They may not be getting the headlines this week, but both Went The Day Well and Creative Cause are fine horses and have some pretty strong odds in their favor. Do not be surprised if either takes home first place at the Preakness.

Here are the updated odds for the field, courtesy of Odds Shark.

Post Position - Horse - Morning Line
1 - Tiger Walk - 33/1
2 - Teeth of the Dog - 15/1
3 - Pretension - 33/1
4 - Zetterholm - 22/1
5 - Went The Day Well- 6/1
6 - Creative Cause - 7/1
7 - Bodemeister - 7/4
8 - Daddy Nose Best - 14/1
9 - I'll Have Another- 5/2
10 - Optimizer - 33/1
11 - Cozzetti - 33/1
