A look at the latest Los Angeles sports news
It's that time of year again, when Sports Illustrated does the women of America a favor and sends them a helpful swimsuit catalog of the upcoming season's latest styles. No that's not it. It's that time of year again when Sports Illustrated celebrates the female form like a Greek statue or a classical painting.
So this morning we're going to talk about the modern American goddess, Diamond Bar's own Alex Morgan. With 31 appearances for the United States Women's National Team, and fourteen goals in that time, Morgan has won the hearts of soccer fans across the country.
Like many great southern Californians, Morgan chose to spend her college days at the University of California, where she's third all time in goals scored. In the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, she scored the first goal in the final against Japan, and assisted on the extra time goal.
