Bracketology 2012: Long Beach State Is The No. 12 Seed In The West Region

Stay connected for news and updates

In SB Nation's recent bracketology, Long Beach State is the no. 12 seed in the West Region set to play Wichita State in the first round of the tournament. There is always a 5-12 upset somewhere in the tourney and a lot of times when teams used to doing the upsetting - like Wichita State - finally move up in the seedings, they get knocked out early. The 49ers would relish the opportunity to keep up the trend.

Meanwhile, Pac-12 representatives California and Arizona both made the tournament as well with Cal as the no. 9 seed in the West Region and the Wildcats as the possible no. 12 seed in the South. As currently situated, the Wildcats would need to beat N.C. State in the First Four games in order to play their way in.

Loyola Marymount will hosts Midwest Region no. 5 seed St. Mary's on Wednesday night.

But of course, that's all according to bracketology. Stay tuned for updates.
