The Trojans improved to 2-0 this season while the 49ers dropped to 1-1.
The USC Trojans cruised to their second victory of the season on Tuesday night as they handled the Long Beach St. 49ers by a score of 62-44. The Trojans held a slight lead at halftime, but a big second half where they outscored LBSU 33-20 ended any chance their opponents had at pulling the upset.
10 players scored for USC. They were led by Eric Wise's double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds. J.T. Terrell and Ari Stewart also contributed 10 points each, while Dewayne Dedmon racked up eight points and 10 boards.
As a team, the Trojans shot 44.6 percent from the floor and hit five of their 16 attempts from behind the three-point arc. They out-rebounded the 49ers by five and only turned the ball over 11 times.
USC will take the court again next Tuesday as they battle Illinois. Long Beach State plays North Carolina on Friday and Arizona next Monday.
