The Clippers hope to carry over last season's success this year. Luckily for them, the games don't count right now. LA loses to Denver 106-104.
The Clippers kicked off their pre-season in Las Vegas on Saturday with a game against the Denver Nuggets. Guard Eric Bledsoe lead Los Angeles with a game-high 25 points and 5 steals. After remaining close the entire game, and thanks to a last second layup by Denver's Ty Lawson, Bledsoe's contribution wouldn't be enough as the Nuggets narrowly beat the Clippers 106-104.
Saturday marked the official return of center Blake Griffin to the basketball court. While a part of Team USA for the London Olympic games, Griffin injured his left knee in practice and required surgery. In 22 minutes played, Griffin had 7 rebounds and 6 points.
Another noted return was that of former-Clipper, now current-Clipper Lamar Kardashian Odom. Odom signed with the Clippers in the off-season after being released by the Dallas Mavericks. Off the bench, Odom played 14 minutes, scoring 4 points with 3 rebounds and 2 turnovers.
Kenneth Faried lead the Nuggets in scoring with 18 points. Kosta Koufos one-upped Griffin with 8 rebounds and 6 points in 15 minutes of play.
Chris Paul and Chauncey Billups were held out of the game as they continue to rehab injuries.
