Long Beach Marathon 2012: Weather forecast, road closures and more

Previewing the 2012 Long Beach Marathon, as well as what adjustments you'll have to make on the road.

The 2012 Long Beach Marathon is set to take place this weekend. The 26.2 mile trip around southern parts of the city is one to behold, complete with beautiful views and some of Southern California's most well-known beaches. Participants are also able to run the half-mile and the Run Forrest Run 5K challenge. Here is what you'll need to know for the race.

Start TIme: The marathon will begin at 7 a.m. locally on Sunday. Those who plan to run in the event have seven and a half hours to complete the 26.2 mile journey.

Weather: It will be a beautiful day for running. Temperatures are forecast to be in the low-60s at the start of the race, with a high of 75 degrees later in the day.

Route Info: Here is the route for the marathon. Runners begin on Shoreline Drive in Downtown Long Beach.

Road Closings: Many of the streets in the area will be closed on Sunday morning. Here they are, and what time they are expected to re-open for traffic.

Shoreline Dr. west of Pine Avenue until 9:30 a.m.
Pine Ave.(Between Shoreline Dr. and Seaside Dr.) until 9:30 a.m.
Queensway Bridge (north bound lanes) until 9:30 a.m.
Ocean Blvd. (between Livingston and 54th Street, west-bound lanes) Livingston (from Termino to Broadway) until 11 a.m.
Nieto (between Appian Way and Broadway) until 2:15 p.m.
Appian Way (between Nieto and Park) until 2 p.m.
Park (between Anaheim and Appian Way) until 1:45 p.m.
6th, Monrovia, Eliot, Boathouse and Colorado until 1:45 p.m.
Marine Stadium (between Nieto and Bayshore until 12 p.m.
Palo Verde (Atherton to Anaheim) until 11:45 p.m.
Atherton (westbound lanes from Clark to Palo Verde) until 1:30 p.m.
Clark (north bound lanes between Atherton and Anaheim) until 1:45 p.m.
Anaheim (between PCH and Clark) until 2:15 p.m.
Ocean Blvd. (west bound lanes between Livingston and Alamitos) until 3 p.m.
