Here's a quick overview of the 2012 Breeders' Cup this weekend.

The post positions for the Breeders' Cup were announced on Monday, as the annual two-day event comes to Los Angeles this year.

The racing gets started on Friday with the Juvenile Sprint, a six-furlong race for two-year-old horses. Friday is highlighted by the $2 million purse for the Ladies' Classic. It is a stacked field for the 1 1/8-mile race, as the undefeated My Miss Aurelia takes on another undefeated horse in Awesome Feather and last year's Ladies' Classic winner Royal Delta.

Other notable entries include Dullahan, half-brother to 2009 Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird, participating in the Turf and not in the Classic. Dullahan's best performances have come on synthetic surfaces and he will be joined on the grass track by Little Mike and Slim Shadey, who has won on the Santa Anita Park turf course before.

To keep up with the entire field, Matt Gardner of SB Nation put together a nice little online document that has all of the entries, post-positions, morning odds and the overall purse totals so far.
