With the NFL's continued interest in bringing a team to the Los Angeles area, Dodger Stadium in Chavez Ravine is the "preferred choice," according to a report.

In what has been a constant struggle between the wants of the Los Angeles community and the needs of the NFL, recent reports indicate that support has grown for Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles's Chavez Ravine to host the city's NFL team.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports Sunday that during meetings in Chicago this week -- where it was determined that no move would happen until 2014 at the earliest -- the site and space has wide-spread support from NFL officials, including commissioner Roger Goodell.

Goodell told Canfora that the spaces around Dodger Stadium were "a terrific site" while another source close to the dealings told Canfora that Dodger Stadium was the "preferred choice" of the available options. The report also mentioned that NFL continues to look for a site with the ability to host two teams.

Sites in Carson, Calif. and in the City of Industry, which have long been considered and widely known, are also still among the possibilities. However, both locations include some drawbacks that have kept the NFL from moving forward with plans.
