Loyola Marymount Vs. Santa Clara: Anthony Ireland Scores 25, Lions Collect Fifth Straight Road Win, 74-62

Reigning West Coast Conference Player of the Week winner Anthony Ireland scored 25 points, leading the Loyola Marymount Lions to a 74-62 win over the Santa Clara Broncos Monday night at the Leavey Center in Santa Clara. The win was the fifth straight road win for Loyola Marymount, who improved to 5-2 in West Coast Conference play.

Ireland made seven of his 13 field goal attempts, including two of five from three-point range. Ireland, who scored 27 points in last Thursday's win over the BYU Cougars in Provo, made nine of his ten free throws Monday night en route to his 25 points. Ireland also dished out five assists.

Drew Viney added 16 points and four rebounds for the Lions, who shot 51.0% from the field. Evan Roguemore led Santa Clara with 17 points off the bench.

Loyola Marymount is now 7-2 on the road for the season, their most road victories in a season since the 1990-1991 season. The Lions have won their first five road games in conference play for the first time since that 1990-1991 season, when LMU went 14-0 in the conference.

LMU hosts the No. 21 Saint Mary's Gaels on Thursday night at Gersten Pavilion.
