Billingsley, Dodgers Look For Split Against Bumgarner, Giants

The Dodgers look to bounce back after Wednesday's late loss, hosting the Giants in the finale of a two-game set Thursday night at Dodger Stadium. Chad Billingsley gets the start for the Dodgers, who have lost four of their last five games. San Francisco counters with 21-year old Madison Bumgarner, who is 0-6 despite a 4.25 ERA.

Billingsley allowed all of one hit on Saturday against Arizona in his last start. However, the Diamondbacks scored a run as well, which was enough to pull out a 1-0 win. Billingsley in his last six starts has a 1.91 ERA, and has averaged more than seven innings per start, but somehow is just 1-2. On the season, Billingsley is 2-3 with a 3.36 ERA.

Juan Uribe, the former Giant who drove in two runs with a double in the eighth inning last night against Brian Wilson, has been one streaky hitter this season. Earlier in the year, Uribe had a 5-for-42 streak, followed by a 13-for-29 streak with three home runs, followed by a 5-for-47 streak. He is on another hot streak now, with walks in four straight games, during which he is 4-for-9.

The Giants placed Mark DeRosa on the 15-day disabled list before tonight's game after DeRosa hurt his left wrist during last night's game. To take his place on the active roster, the Giants recalled infielder Emmanuel Burriss from Triple A Fresno. At 23-19, the Giants are in first place in the NL West, a half-game ahead of the Colorado Rockies.

Tonight's 7:10 p.m. PDT game will be televised by Prime Ticket. For more news and information on the Dodgers, be sure to read the SB Nation blog True Blue LA.
