2012 Rose Bowl Game: Oregon And Wisconsin Head Coaches Trade Compliments

The 2012 Rose Bowl is set for a rarer-than-you-might-think traditional Pac-12 versus Big Ten matchup between the Oregon Ducks and the Wisconsin Badgers.

The two teams seem to be very familiar with one another and each head coach had glowing words for the opposing team on Sunday, according to AP sports writer Greg Beacham. Wisconsin had head Bret Bielema had this to say:

"The great thing about this bowl game matchup is it’s the direct opposites of offensive philosophy," Bielema said. "You want to have unique matchups, and for us to play Oregon in one of the best environments for football anywhere, it’s going to be so unique. It’s going to draw a lot of attention."

Oregon's Chip Kelly also seems to be quite enthused about the game. He offered the following comments:

"They’ve got a lot of weapons, not just that big, strong offensive line," Kelly said. "You’re probably going against the best quarterback-running back combination in college football. It’s fun to watch them — probably not as much fun when you’re playing them."

The key to this game for both teams will be controlling running game. If the Badgers can find a way to contain LaMichael James and his exceptionally speedy fellow Ducks running backs, they could likewise lean on tailback Montee Ball, they can showcase their offense which has earned them back-to-back Big Ten championships.
