Pepperdine Vs. San Francisco: Waves Open West Coast Conference Play With 77-61 Home Win Over Dons

Corbin Moore scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Pepperdine Waves to a 77-61 over the San Francisco Dons at the Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu on Thursday night in the West Coast Conference opener for both teams. It was the sixth straight game scoring in double figures for Moore, who is averaging 11.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per contest this season.

Caleb Willis nearly had a triple-double for the Waves, with 10 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. Pepperdine shot 51.9% from the field and outrebounded San Francisco 41-29 on the night. The Waves won their WCC opener for the fourth straight year, with all four wins coming at home.

The two halves told a nearly identical story, as the Waves led 39-30 at halftime, then outscored San Francisco 38-31 in the final 20 minutes for their second straight home win. Pepperdine is 4-2 at Firestone Fieldhouse this season.

Angelo Caloiaro led the Dons with 14 points, while Perris Blackwell added 11 points and seven rebounds in defeat for San Francisco.
