Diamond Head Classic Tournament Begins Thursday With Long Beach State Vs. Xavier On ESPNU

The Long Beach State 49ers will spend their Christmas weekend in Honolulu, Hawaii, taking part in the Diamond Head Classic at the Stan Sheriff Center. The eight-team tournament will take place over the next four days, culminating on Christmas Day, and be televised by the ESPN family of networks.

Long Beach State will face the No. 14 Xavier Musketeers in the opening round on Thursday night, the fifth team ranked in the AP top 14 that the 49ers have faced this season. Here is the schedule for the opening day of the tournament (all times PST):

11:30 a.m. - UTEP Miners vs. Clemson Tigers (ESPNU)

1:30 p.m. - Kansas State Wildcats vs. Southern Illinois Salukis (ESPNU)

8 p.m. - Long Beach State 49ers vs. Xavier Musketeers (ESPNU)

10 p.m. - Auburn Tigers vs. Hawaii Warriors (ESPNU)

Roxy Bernstein and Doug Gottlieb will call the first two games on Thursday, while Kanoa Leahy and Stephen Bardo calling the last two contests.
